Energy Savings Action Plans:
First examples (scroll down for additional examples):
These projects were working with Whitehaven Coal Limited to produce their Corporate Guide for Greenhouse and Energy Efficiency for their following operational sites:
With each project, we worked with Whitehaven providing assistance in preparing the required ESAPs. The process invovled site visits to their offices, inspections of mine sites, discussions about data sources and ESAP requirements, and provision of comprehensive data as required.
Generic Scope of Works and Methodology for this type of project is listed here:
Mines site visit, mine site inspection and site meeting,
Review information available data for a complete emissions inventory on a site by site basis with possible energy and greenhouse performance indicators,
Review information available and data for a complete projected site energy inventory with possible energy performance indicators,
Meetings/discussions with relevant staff, site brainstorming session, identify possible projects, assist with documentation, financial evaluation and project listing,
Prepare draft documents for further discussion,
Further meetings and discussions as required,
Final documents as approved,
Follow up as required.
Listed below are links to the Energy Savings Action Plans that the individual mine sites have posted on their websites as well as download links from this web site.

Other projects have been to work with Peabody Energy Australia Coal to prepare the first and second ESAP Annual Reports for Wambo Coal and the first ESAP Annual Report for Metropolitan Colliery.
Energy Savings Action Plan for Weir Minerals Australia Artarmon, NSW.
This project was a comprehensive energy study across the whole manufacturing site at Artarmon that included electrikcity and natural gas as well as on site compressed air services, and site electricity metering systems. A detailed review was undertaken of energy usage across the site with the establishment of Energy KPIs by site, product, energy type and functional area. Energy projects were assessed for the site based on site inspections, energy measurements, previous work and energy brainstormning sessions on site. The final report included tailored to suit proscribed ESAP requiremetns included many recomnmened actions and projects with esimated costs as well as estimated energy and cost savings.
Weir Minerals Manufacturing Facility - Artarmon NSW
Another project was the design and specfication of an in-house metering system for a food manufacturing company for the purposes of undertaking an ESASP and a future EEO assessment. Energy types included within the metering system included electricity (about 27 points), natural gas with the ability to be exended to include steam usage as well as compressed air.
